A Yin yoga class usually consists of a series of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly work on the lower part of the body – the hips, pelvis, inner thighs and lower back. These areas are especially rich in connective tissues. Yin poses are typically held for 2 to 5 minutes, sometimes longer.
Calms and balances the mind and body, reduces stress and anxiety, increases circulation, improves flexibility, releases fascia and improves joint mobility.
